Komatsu WA380 Corner Teeth: 423-70-13144 Left, 423-70-13154 Right
The WA380 bucket has two corner teeth and they are not the same casting: 423-70-13144 is left-hand and 423-70-13154 is right-hand. Komatsu's parts catalogue prints 23.4 kg for the left and 24 kg for the right. Both are bolted monoblock teeth with no pin and no retainer — and both get ordered against the wrong number because the older 423-70-13143 / 423-70-13153 pair sits one digit away.
Two corners, two castings, one bucket
A loader bucket wears hardest at the corners. The centre teeth meet the pile head-on, but the corners take the side load, the scraping pass along the wall and the twist when the operator crowds the pile on one side. That is why the corner is a wider, heavier casting than the centre — roughly 23 kg against 17 kg on this machine — and why it is handed. The outer profile and the side wall are cast for one side of the bucket. Fit a left-hand corner on the right and the wear face points into the bucket.
So a WA380 set is not one number at a quantity of five or six. It is one number for the centres, one number for the left corner and a third for the right. The full set is written out in our WA380 tooth and base guide, and the centre tooth has its own page at 423-70-13114.
What the catalogues actually print for weight
| Source | 423-70-13144 (L.H.) | 423-70-13154 (R.H.) | Note on the row |
|---|---|---|---|
| Komatsu parts catalogue | 23.4 kg | 24.0 kg | TOOTH, L.H. / TOOTH, R.H.; same model list on both rows |
| BDI Wear Parts | 22.7 kg | 22.7 kg | WA380 / 450 BL and BR rows |
| SJ-GET | 23.6 kg | 23.6 kg | WA380 / WA420 / WA450; 48–52 HRC |
| Beneparts | 23.6 kg | 23.6 kg | WA380 / WA420 |
| YF Wear Parts | — | 23.0 kg | 48–52 HRC, impact above 20 J |
| HCE Parts | 24.0 kg | 24.0 kg | WA420-1/-3, WA470-1/-3; fastener column reads 4 |
| Kenki Depot (Komatsu table) | 25.3 kg | 25.3 kg | Both printed on a WA470-5 row |
The spread is 22.7 to 25.3 kg — 2.6 kg, about 11 percent, on a part that ships by the pallet. Twenty corners at the light end weigh 454 kg; at the heavy end, 506 kg. That difference decides whether a shipment goes as 500 kg or tips into the next freight band, so we weigh each lot and print the weighed figure on the packing list instead of quoting a catalogue number. Notice too that the Komatsu rows separate the two corners by 0.6 kg while nearly every aftermarket list prints them identical — which is the first hint that the aftermarket is quoting one casting family, not two castings.

The useful reading of that table is that the model plate alone does not settle it below WA430. On the WA350, WA400 and WA420 the catalogue carries two corner pairs, so the same machine can arrive with either — depending on the bucket and lip it was built with. Above WA430 there is one answer and it is 423-70-13144 / 423-70-13154.
The 13143 / 13153 trap
423-70-13143 is named TOOTH, CORNER L.H. in the catalogue and listed against WA350, WA400 and WA420; 423-70-13153 is its right-hand partner. They are one digit from the pair above and carry the same 23.4 kg catalogue weight, so neither the number pattern nor the scale will sort them out on a loading dock. An aftermarket supplier's listing for 423-70-13143 prints 56.63 lb, which converts to 25.7 kg — heavier than the catalogue figure and close enough to the 25.3 kg row we saw for 13144 that a buyer comparing weights can talk himself into either.
What separates them is shape, and the reliable way to get it is the number cast or stamped on the tooth being replaced, or a photograph of the corner taken from the side with a rule against it. A description like "the corner tooth for our WA380" identifies a position, not a casting.
The same corner position, four other numbers
Komatsu's consumable tooth list prints three variants of the same corner position on the same machines, and they are not interchangeable shopping options — they are different parts for different working conditions.
- Lime bucket (423-842-1110 centre, 423-842-1120 L.H., 423-842-1130 R.H.) — printed for WA380-5 through -8, WA430-5/-6 and WA480-5/-6/-8. Cement and lime work, where the abrasion is fine and constant rather than impact.
- Long-life (423-T74-1110 centre, 423-T74-1120 L.H., 423-T74-1130 R.H.) — same machines and also WA430-5/-6. The number to quote when a customer says the standard tooth is wearing out too fast in abrasive rock.
- Hybrid aftermarket numbering (ZZD4237013114 centre, ZZD4237013144 L.H., ZZD4237013154 R.H.) — the same castings with a hardfacing or carburising process applied, listed against WA350/380, WA400/450 and WA470. Komatsu notes the genuine numbers are not hybrid-processed, so a hybrid part is an aftermarket item and should be priced as one.
That matters at quotation time. "Same tooth but it lasts longer" has three possible answers here, and only one is a number change on the standard part.
Do not mix the corner with the chip-type lip
The 423-847 prefix covers more than the three-hole bolt-on base 423-847-1111. The same prefix carries the chip-type tooth 423-847-1140, held by pin 09244-02516 and listed for WA380-5/-6/-7, WA430-5/-6, WA450-3, WA470-5 through -10, WA475-10 and WA480-5/-6/-8. It is a replaceable tip on a pinned base, not a bolted monoblock corner. If the lip has a pin hole and no bolt holes on the side, no 423-70-13144 will fit it — that order is the wrong system, not the wrong size.
The same list also prints the WA470-6 excavating bucket with 425-70-13212 / 425-70-13222 / 425-70-13232 instead of the 423 numbers. Bucket option, not machine model, decides the tooth family there.
Ordering a corner set: five checks
- Count by position. One left, one right, then the centres. Corners are never ordered as two of one number.
- Read the stamp. Photograph the number on the old corner before it goes in the scrap bin — 13144 against 13143 cannot be settled by weight or by model.
- Check the fixing. Bolted monoblock corners have bolt holes through the side; the chip-type lip has a pin. Photograph the lip edge either way.
- Decide the variant. Standard, lime-bucket or long-life — three different numbers for the same position.
- Fasteners on the same line. Komatsu's own list tells buyers to confirm quantities and mounting parts with the dealer. We quote bolts and nuts with the castings and confirm the numbers against the machine's parts book before shipping.
FAQ
Q: Are 423-70-13144 and 423-70-13154 interchangeable?
A: No. Left-hand and right-hand castings of the same position, printed at 23.4 kg and 24 kg in the Komatsu catalogue. Two of one number fit one side of the bucket.
Q: Does 423-70-13144 fit a WA380-8?
A: Komatsu's consumable list covers WA380-5, -6, -7 and -8 with the 423 trio. The aftermarket fitment lists we read stop at -7, so on a -8 we confirm by serial number and a photo of the corner before quoting.
Q: What is the difference between 423-70-13143 and 423-70-13144?
A: Two left-hand corners for the same loader family, one digit apart, both 23.4 kg in the catalogue. 13143 is listed against WA350, WA400 and WA420; 13144 across WA350 to WA480. Shape and the stamped number decide, not the weight.
Q: How many corners and bolts does one bucket take?
A: Two corners, one of each hand, plus the centres. The catalogue rows we read carry four fasteners on each corner and three on the centre; bolt numbers are confirmed against the parts book before shipping.

Weights, part names, coverage and variant numbers here come from Komatsu's consumable tooth and edge parts list and the Komatsu parts catalogue rows for 423-70-13143, 423-70-13144 and 423-70-13154, read in October 2026, with aftermarket listings from BDI Wear Parts, HCE Parts, SJ-GET, Beneparts, YF Wear Parts and a Komatsu aftermarket table that prints both corners at 25.3 kg. Figures are reproduced as printed; where lists disagree, all values are shown and none is averaged. Komatsu and these part numbers belong to their respective owners and appear here for fitment reference only. No price is published — these are quotation items.
