The Adapter Numbers for the 30-Tonne Doosan Class
On a 30-tonne bucket the adapter is the heavier and more expensive half of the ground engaging tools, and it is the half most often ordered from memory. Four numbers cover the class, and they are not freely interchangeable — the casting number on the adapter nose decides which family of tooth the bucket takes.
| Adapter | Gap width | Catalogue weight | Takes tooth | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2713-1220 | 40 mm | 11.80 kg | 2713-1219 | Current part for S290-5 / DX300 buckets; also written 3T1220 |
| 2713-1220 | 50 mm | 12.60 kg | 2713-1219 | Same casting, wider gap — chosen by bucket lip and capacity |
| 2713-1235 | 40 mm | 11.00 kg | 2713-1219 | Second 40 mm adapter for the same machine class |
| 2713-9037 | 40 mm | 12.80 kg | 2713-9038 | Older DH280 / Solar 280 system — not the 2713-1219 tooth |
| 2713-9037 | 50 mm | 13.50 kg | 2713-9038 | Older DH280 / Solar 280 system, wider gap |
Weights are catalogue figures from the Doosan wear-parts list and are quoted here as freight numbers. The fitment row that matters is the one printed against the tooth: 2713-1220 and 2713-1219 share the S290-5, S300-5, DX300 and DX300LC row, which is why we quote them as one line.
Weld-On Adapters: What to Check Before the Bucket Shop Starts
- Measure the gap. Lay a tape across the mouth of an existing adapter. 40 or 50 mm is the decision on this class, and both widths take the same 2713-1219 tooth, so the number you need comes off the bucket rather than off the tooth.
- Read the casting number. A number ending 9037 means the bucket is on the older DH280 system and wants the 2713-9038 tooth. A 9037 nose and a 2713-1220 nose look very close at arm's length — this is the mismatch that sends containers back.
- Count the positions, and add spares. Corner adapters work harder than centre ones; if the bucket runs tiger long or rock chisel teeth, expect the two outer positions to be the first to go.
- Book pins and locks with the adapters. Adapters do not come with pins. A bucket shop fitting five adapters needs five pins 2705-9010 and five locks 2114-1849 on the same delivery, or the machine sits.
- Check the lip, not just the adapter. Buckets that have been re-lipped or repaired can be crooked under the nose. One straight-on photo of the lip with the old adapters still fitted tells us more than a part number.
Ordering Notes
- Aftermarket, stated plainly. We supply aftermarket adapters cross-referenced to the Doosan numbers, not genuine Doosan parts. Castings can be supplied in standard or in a higher-hardness wear grade on request.
- No published prices. Adapter price depends on the gap width, the cast grade, quantity and the shipping lane. Adapters are dense parts, so freight is a real share of the landed cost — tell us the destination port and we quote CIF against it.
- Sets are cheaper than pieces. We quote adapter + tooth + pin + lock as a complete bucket kit so the fitment is matched at our end and nothing arrives one item short.
FAQ
Q: Which tooth fits the 2713-1220 adapter?
A: Tooth 2713-1219 in standard, RC rock chisel or TL tiger long profile, held by pin 2705-9010 (22 mm × 109 mm) and lock 2114-1849. The adapter and the tooth are catalogued on the same fitment row for S290-5, S300-5, DX300 and DX300LC buckets.
Q: What is the difference between the 40 mm and 50 mm 2713-1220 adapter?
A: The gap width across the adapter nose: 40 mm is quoted at 11.80 kg and 50 mm at 12.60 kg. Both widths take the same 2713-1219 tooth, pin and lock, so the choice is made by the bucket lip and the load the bucket carries, not by the tooth. Measure the gap on the machine before ordering.
Q: Is 3T1220 the same adapter as 2713-1220?
A: Yes. 3T1220 is the same casting under the Caterpillar-style numbering some customers and parts books use, and 2713-1235 is a second 40 mm adapter for the same machine class quoted at 11.00 kg. Ask for the number your parts book prints and we cross-reference it.
Q: Will a 2713-1220 adapter take the older 2713-9038 tooth?
A: No. The older DH280 buckets carry the 2713-9037 adapter, quoted at 12.80 kg in the 40 mm gap and 13.50 kg in the 50 mm, and that shank takes the 2713-9038 tooth at 7.30 kg. Check the casting number on the adapter before ordering either family: a 9037 number means the older system.
