Why the Adapter Is Sold by Gap Width

The tooth wears out several times over the life of the shank it sits on. The shank is welded to the bucket lip, and because buckets differ — general purpose, heavy duty, a rebuilt lip on a machine that has been through two owners — the same Doosan tooth sits on adapters built to different gap widths. Order "a DX225 adapter" and the supplier is guessing. Order "2713-1218, 35 mm gap" and there is nothing left to guess.

Adapter numberGapCatalogue weightNotes
2713-121840 mm7.6 kgStandard vertical version for the S220-5 / DX225 bucket class
2713-121835 mm8.5 kgThe narrower of the two; the version most DH220-5 buckets carry
2713-1218 HD40 mm9.3-10.1 kgHeavier duty casting for rock and demolition work
3T121835 mmabout 8.3 kgThe same adapter under the number used in the Solar 220LC / DH220 listings
2713-904235 mm bevel / 40 mm vertical10.0-10.6 kgThe older DH220 shank sold alongside the 2713-9041 tooth; still found on first-generation buckets

One check before you order either way: with the tooth off, measure the distance between the straps where the tooth nose seats. That number, in millimetres, is the gap — and it is the only field on the order that can be wrong while the part number is right.

The Complete Set for a DX225-Class Bucket

Tooth point2713-1217 / 2713-1217RC / 2713-1217TLDoes the digging and wears out; standard, rock chisel and tiger long profiles
Pin2705-1020 (2705-9012)Holds the tooth on the shank, 19-20 mm × 105 mm
Lock / retainer2114-9008 (2114-1848)Secures the pin; about 0.05 kg
Weld-on adapter2713-1218 (35 / 40 mm) or 3T1218Welded to the bucket lip; outlives several sets of teeth

We quote the four items as one line, because a bucket re-toothed in one order should not arrive short of pins. The heavier DH300-class system — tooth 2713-1219, pin 2705-9010 at 22 mm, adapter 2713-1220 in 40 and 50 mm gaps — is a different family and does not cross over onto these shanks, even though one or two catalogue pages list the DX225LCA under both. The DX225 tooth guide has the measurement that separates them.

Ordering Notes

  • Send the gap width. The part number alone does not tell us the gap, and the weights differ between the two widths.
  • Welding is your side of the shipment. The shank is supplied as a casting for welding to the lip; we do not quote welding or line boring.
  • Aftermarket, stated plainly. We supply aftermarket adapters cross-referenced to the Doosan numbers, not genuine Doosan parts. Send the old casting to us in a photo and we will confirm before you commit to a pallet.
  • No published prices. Cast grade, casting process, quantity and the shipping lane decide the quote. Ask for a firm figure, FOB Shanghai or CIF.

FAQ

Q: Which tooth fits the 2713-1218 adapter?
A: Tooth 2713-1217 in standard, RC rock chisel or TL tiger long profile, held with pin 2705-1020 (also written 2705-9012) and lock 2114-9008 (also written 2114-1848). This is the DH220-5 / S220-5 / DX225 class shank, so the adapter survives several sets of teeth.

Q: Do I need the 35 mm or the 40 mm version?
A: Measure the gap on your own bucket, with the tooth off: it is the distance between the straps where the tooth nose seats. 2713-1218 is sold in both widths, and 3T1218 is the same adapter in 35 mm. The tooth and pin are identical either way, so the gap is the only thing that can be wrong on the order.

Q: Is 2713-1218 the same part as 2713-9042?
A: No, they are different castings for the same machine class. 2713-9042 is the older DH220 shank, quoted as a 35 mm bevel or a 40 mm vertical adapter at 10.0-10.6 kg. 2713-1218 is the later number, quoted at 7.6 kg (40 mm) and 8.5 kg (35 mm) in one catalogue with an HD version at 9.3-10.1 kg. Both take pin 2705-1020 and lock 2114-9008.
