The Top Rung Where One Number Is Not Enough

The 6I-6602 is the J600 point most often ordered by number, and it is also the number where the two aftermarket catalogues part company. TRASTEEL files it as a loader standard long tip at 30.3 kg, printed 395 × 195 × 170 mm. Black Cat's J600 row prints 77.3 lb / 35.06 kg for its standard long point. That is a 4.8 kg gap on a single casting, and at 100 pieces it is close to half a tonne on the packing list — worth settling before the container is booked rather than after it lands.

Everything on the J600 Nose

All of these run on pin 6I-6608 and retainer 6I-6609 through a 6I-6604 excavator base or a 119-8604 loader base. This is the spread that one order line saying "J600 teeth" can hide:

Read the weights rather than the profile names. The penetration point in this family weighs less than the standard long point, and the abrasion point weighs almost twice as much as either — same nose, same pin, three different jobs. Our J600 and J700 guide puts the same numbers beside the J700 family if you are deciding between the two rungs.

What to Check Before You Order

Two things decide whether a box of 6I-6602 tips fits and lasts. First the base: a 6I-6604 excavator base and a 119-8604 loader base both carry the J600 nose, but they are 190 mm across the back with different leg geometry, and a bucket rebuilt with the wrong one will work the pins loose within a shift — when the base is worn at the pin hole, replace it with the teeth. Second the profile: if you are replacing 57.5 kg abrasion points with 30.3 kg standard points, the bucket will load differently and the operator will notice inside a day.

We supply 6I-6602 and the rest of the J600 family as aftermarket castings with pins, retainers and bases in the same line item, and we confirm the nose class from a photo of your old tooth and base before shipping.

FAQ

Q: What pin and retainer does a 6I-6602 take?
A: Pin 6I-6608 (alternative 113-9608) and retainer 6I-6609 (alternative 113-9609). The whole J600 family sits on that one hardware set, on both the excavator rows and the loader rows, so a mixed box of J600 profiles needs one pin number, not four.

Q: How heavy is a 6I-6602 bucket tooth?
A: TRASTEEL prints 30.3 kg for the loader standard long profile; Black Cat prints 77.3 lb / 35.06 kg for its standard long row — a 4.8 kg gap on one casting. Inside the same J600 nose the spread runs from 29.3 kg (7I-7609) through 33 kg (6I-6602SYL) and 38.8 kg (6I-6602RC) to 42 kg (7Y-0602) and 57.5 kg (6I-6603). Send the weight you are replacing and we confirm the casting against it.

Q: Which machines does the 6I-6602 fit?
A: Through the J600 base 6I-6604 (50.5 kg, 564 × 190 mm, AB 75) on 345 / 350 / 365 class excavator buckets, and through the loader base 119-8604 (71.5 kg, 585 × 190 × 70 mm) on 988 / 992 class buckets. Black Cat's adapter table puts the J600 strap at 2.50 in for 992 / 990 / 988 and at 3.00 in or 3.35 in on Cat 300 Series H, J and W buckets.
