Kobelco SK250-8 Filters: Four Catalogue Numbers and a Hino Truck Part

Kobelco SK250-8 oil filter and fuel element set for the Hino J05E engine

Sakura lists four filters for the Kobelco SK250-8: three cabin air numbers and one fuel element. The fifth position is not a Kobelco part at all. Its engine oil filter is Hino 15607-2190, a dual-flow spin-on with a 1 1/2-16 UN thread that Hino and Nissan UD trucks use as well.

The SK250-8 is the 25-tonne machine of the -8 generation — 24,700 kg on the Kobelco sheet with a 1.0 m³ bucket — and it runs the same Hino J05E family as the SK200-8. Same engine series, same cab, same oil filter. Past that the catalogue coverage thins out, and that thinning is what this guide is about: what the book actually lists, what has to be matched from the Hino side, and the two places where the numbers still do not settle.

1. What the catalogue actually lists

Sakura's application pages are the most consistent published source for this engine, and putting the two machines side by side shows how uneven coverage is. Both pages name the engine as HINO J05E. One prints ten filter lines, the other prints four:

A four-line list does not mean four filters; it means the compiler had four lines. The SK250-8 has the same cabin arrangement as the SK200-8, uses a fuel element from the same 94 mm family, and carries a return filter that aftermarket catalogues do list even though Sakura does not — so the rest of this page is built from engine-side and filter-brand data rather than from application lists alone.

2. The oil filter is a Hino part number

Baldwin's off-highway applications list settles it in one line: SK250-8 with Hino J05E, dual-flow lube, 15607-2190, BD7325. No Kobelco number in between. The same filter is sold for Hino trucks and Nissan UD as 15607-2190, S156072190 or 156072190A, and it lands on the shelf as Baldwin BD7325, WIX 57190, Mann W 12 003 or LF16110.

Dual-flow is the part that matters. The can carries a full-flow element and a bypass element in one shell: the full-flow side does the normal work, and the bypass side keeps oil moving to the bearings when the main media blinds or the oil is cold and thick. That is why the can is 206 mm tall and 118 mm across instead of the usual lube-filter proportions, and it is why a cheaper filter with the right thread is not a substitute.

The substitution that catches people is Hino 15607-2050, a lube filter for Ranger, Dutro and 500-series trucks published at 196 to 199 mm high, 114 to 118 mm outside, 1 1/2-16 UN, gasket 109.5 / 96.5 mm. The thread matches, the diameter is within a few millimetres, the can is eight millimetres shorter, and it is not dual-flow. On a J05E that difference shows up as low hot idle pressure long before anything looks wrong.

One caution: YN30T01001P1 appears in supplier listings against this same filter, and at least one calls it an oil filter head rather than an element. Treat that number as a lead to confirm, not as a straight swap — it is the same head-versus-element trap as on the fuel side.

3. Fuel: same 94 mm family, different member

For the SK250-8 fuel position, Hytec publishes LS21P01013R100 at 162.81 mm high, 94.49 mm outside, 26.16 mm bore, 5 micron to SAE J1985; a UK parts listing for the same number gives 94 mm outside, 26 mm bore, 161 mm high. It is the same envelope as the SK200-8 cartridges, but a different number and a different rating:

NumberHeightRating as publishedFilter-brand cross

LS21P01013R100162.8 mm5 micron to SAE J1985 (Hytec)Mann PU10026x, FF5786, PF7983

Now the useful part. Mann's PU10026x lists LS21P01013R100, YN21P01036R100, YN21P01036S002, YN21P01068R100 and YN21P01088R100 in one OEM table; HiFi's SN 25044 does the same. Donaldson does not: it keeps P502423 for the EF-2701 element and P502463 for the high-efficiency 4-micron one. So whether the trade thinks there are one, two or four filters depends on which table is open, and a cross-reference will not tell you which element lands in the box.

For a common-rail J05E that gap is not academic. A 14-micron element in the fine position passes the abrasive that scores nozzles, and the complaint arrives six months later as hard starting, never as a filter fault. Ask for the rating in writing, not just the cross.

4. Cabin air: two numbers, three pieces

Both -8 machines take the same cabin set, and it is smaller than the number of part numbers suggests. CA-41010 is a plastic-framed element at 17 mm thick, 200 by 189.5 mm, crossing Kobelco 51186-41990 and YN50V01015P3. CA-41020-S is a set of two elements, each 15 mm thick, 490 by 123 mm, crossing Kobelco YN50V01014P1P and 51186-41970 and New Holland VN50W01014P1; CA-41020 is the same element sold as a single, and Sakura's own remark says "exactly same as CA-41020-S".

So a full cabin service is one CA-41010 plus one set of two. Watch the thickness figure when you buy on the OEM number instead of the Sakura number: Hytec prints YN50V01014P1P at 31 by 495.5 by 124 mm, which is what two 15 mm elements plus their frames measure, while Sakura's per-element figure is 15 mm. Baldwin PA30081 replaces YN50V01014P1P at 123.8 mm wide. Order the set, or count on being one element short.

5. Hydraulic return: 130 mm or 248 mm, still open

Sakura lists nothing hydraulic for the SK250-8, so this position has to be built from filter-brand data — and it now has three voices. A Hong Kong filter house publishes H-41013 for the SK125SR, SK200-8 and SK250-8 at 126 mm overall and 117 mm of media, 144 / 142.5 mm outside, 97 mm bore, 4 7/16-11 G thread, crossed to Kobelco YN52V01011P1, YN52V01016R100 and YN52V01016R600. A Chinese element maker lists its equivalent at 130 by 145 by 100 mm against H-4101, Donaldson P502446 and H-8523, names SK200-8 and SK250-8 in the fitment, and notes that the same element goes in as a pair on the older SK200-6. A third seller prints YN52V01016R610 at 145 mm outside, 96.5 mm bore and 248 mm high, replacing P582247, for SK200-8, SK210-8, SK250-8 and SK260-8.

Both shapes are carried for the same machine, and the number does not decide it. Open the housing and count: one tall element, order the 248 mm; two short ones, order the 130 mm pair.

6. Ordering notes

  • Quote the serial, not just the model. The -8 generation ran long enough that filtration changed mid-life, and the fuel number is the first thing to move.
  • Say the position for fuel. Water separator or engine canister decides between the 4-micron high-efficiency element and the 14-micron one, and the envelope is identical either way.
  • Do not swap the oil filter on thread alone. 1 1/2-16 UN is shared with ordinary Hino truck lube filters that are shorter and not dual-flow.
  • Aftermarket, stated plainly. Everything we supply is aftermarket, cross-referenced to Kobelco and Hino numbers for fitment only. Kobelco and Hino are trademarks of their owners; if your service contract requires genuine parts, quote the OEM number to your dealer.
  • No published prices. Quote depends on quantity, packing and lane — FOB Shanghai or CIF.

Kobelco's own spec sheet for the SK250-8 gives 24,700 kg and a 1.0 m³ bucket. Where sources disagree on height, diameter or micron rating, both figures are printed here rather than averaged. No service intervals, flow figures or beta values are quoted because the sources read do not publish them for these numbers, and no prices are quoted.

FAQ

Q: What oil filter does a Kobelco SK250-8 take?
A: Hino 15607-2190, a dual-flow lube spin-on with a 1 1/2-16 UN thread. Published sizes run 205.5 to 206.4 mm high and 115.7 to 119.1 mm outside depending on the catalogue: Hytec prints 205.49 x 115.72 mm for the SK250-8, WIX 57190 prints 206.2 x 118.1 mm, Baldwin BD7325 prints 206.4 x 118.3 mm. Baldwin's off-highway applications list maps SK250-8 with the Hino J05E to 15607-2190 and then to BD7325.

Q: Is the SK250-8 filter set the same as the SK200-8?
A: No. Both machines run the Hino J05E and take the same cabin air filters, CA-41010 and the CA-41020-S set of two, and the same Hino dual-flow oil filter. The fuel element differs: Sakura's SK250-8 page names EF-27015 and nothing else, while the SK200-8 page adds FC-55241, EF-27013 and three hydraulic numbers. Aftermarket sellers quote LS21P01013R100 for the SK250-8 fuel position and YN21P01088R100 for the SK200-8.

Q: Why does Sakura list only four filters for the SK250-8?
A: Because a filter catalogue is compiled per application and coverage is uneven, not because the machine has four filters. Sakura's SK250-8 page carries CA-41010, CA-41020-S, CA-41020 and EF-27015; its SK200-8 page carries ten lines including the hydraulic numbers and a second fuel cartridge. Neither page lists an engine oil filter, which is why the oil filter has to be matched from the Hino side.

Q: Is LS21P01013R100 the same as YN21P01088R100?
A: They are the same 94 mm envelope and the aftermarket partly treats them as one part, but the published ratings differ. Hytec gives LS21P01013R100 at 162.81 mm high, 94.49 mm outside, 26.16 mm bore and 5 micron to SAE J1985; Sakura gives YN21P01088R100 at 156.5 mm and 4 micron absolute. Mann PU10026x lists both numbers, while Donaldson keeps two numbers: P502423 for the EF-2701 element and P502463 for the high-efficiency one.
