SANY SY215C bucket tooth 11912709K with base 12657353 and lock pin 12915776

SANY is the volume brand in Chinese-built excavators and the SY215C is the machine that put it there: a 21.9 t medium crawler on a 0.93 m³ bucket that is now common in mixed fleets across West Africa, the Gulf and Southeast Asia. Its ground-engaging tools are cheap to buy and easy to get wrong, because the tooth, the base and the pin are three separate numbers that live under one drawing group — and most buyers order only the first one. This article is about the other two.

Everything below is quoted from sources read on 10 October 2026: SANY's global product page for the SY215C, SANY America's published spec sheet, the SANY UK brochure, aftermarket catalogues selling the 11912709 family, and a parts-trade listing for the lock pin. Catalogue figures are attributed to the catalogue that prints them, because in this family they disagree. No list prices are given by us — a tooth ships as point plus pin plus retainer plus base, and the port moves the number more than the casting does.

The SY215C bucket group, by drawing number

The three numbers in the headline are one drawing group. SANY stamps the bucket assembly SY215C.3.4.1 and numbers the parts inside it in sequence: the point is -11, the base is -13, the lock pin is -14. In the parts trade the same items are usually quoted by their six- or eight-digit number, which is why one part can look like two different parts depending on which column you read.

PartNumbers as printedRole on the bucket
Bucket point11912709, 11912709K — drawing SY215C.3.4.1-11The wear part. High-spec alloy steel, quoted at 48–52 HRC with an impact value above 20 J by the suppliers who publish both figures
Weld-on base12657353, 12657353K, 12657353P — drawing SY215C.3.4.1-13Welded to the bucket lip and carries the point. Aftermarket catalogues list it as a welded side-pin adapter for the SY195–SY225 range
Lock pin12915776 — drawing SY215C.3.4.1-14Vertical drop-in pin with a taper. Listed for the SY135 through the SY235, so the number identifies the family, not the length

Only the point wears out on a normal schedule. The base is a welded casting that usually outlives two or three sets of points, and the pin is the part everyone forgets: it is a one- to three-dollar item that stops a five-thousand-dollar bucket when it is missing from the box. Order pins with every point set, not on their own later.

One point covers four machine classes

This is the fact worth carrying away from the page. The aftermarket tooth tables print 11912709K against SY135, SY195, SY205 and SY215 in a single row — a 13.5 t machine and a 21.9 t machine sharing one point. The next family up starts at the SY225:

SANY machineTooth number as published
SY5512076675K — point also sold as 12076675P (SY55C.3.4-2 / LD60T)
SY60, SY65, SY75, SY9512076809K — point also sold as 12076809P (SY75.3.4-2); alternative point A229900002157K / 20X-70-14160

SY135, SY195, SY205, SY21511912709K — the point in this article

SY265, SY285, SY30560116437K
SY335, SY36560116437K — the same number as the row above, with the rock tip sold as 60116437P1 / 713Y00032RC
SY42560142873P

Two things follow from that table. First, a 21-tonne SANY bucket and a 13.5-tonne SANY bucket buy the same point, so a mixed SANY fleet can hold one tooth line instead of two. Second, the number 60116437K is printed for both the SY265/285/305 band and the SY335/365 band, which is exactly the kind of row that makes a machine badge useless as an ordering reference. Send the serial prefix and we confirm against the row.

What the machine under the badge actually is

Before the tooth, a warning about the badge. The SY215C is published with four different specifications depending on the market, and the differences are not cosmetic:

SourceWeightEngineBucketDigging figures
SANY global product page21.9 t4M50, 4.9 L, 118 kW0.93 m³Bucket digging force 138 kN, arm 103 kN
SANY America spec sheet (2022)23,550 kg (51,919 lb)Cummins QSB6.7, 6.7 L, 122 kW (163.6 hp) gross—Bucket breakout 127.0 kN (ISO), arm digging force 103.0 kN

SY215C-9LCS listing (India)21,400 kg155 hp1.1 m³—

Four sources, four power figures and three bucket sizes for one badge. The good news is that none of it changes the tooth: every one of those builds runs the same .3.4.1 bucket group, so 11912709 on 12657353 with a 12915776 pin covers the class. What it does change is the engine filter you order and the weight you declare to the forwarder. A US transport listing carries the machine at 51,193 lb with an overall length of 30 ft 10 in, which is the number a flatbed quote is built from. Put the serial prefix on the enquiry and stop guessing.

The pin is the part that breaks the order

The 12915776 lock pin is a vertical drop-in with a taper, and the point is held by that taper and a retainer rather than by a bolt. Catalogue copy for this family describes a hammerless system that comes apart with an ordinary socket wrench, with a symmetrical point that can be flipped and the pin drawn from either side — which is a good design on paper and a good design at the bench, provided the pin is in the box.

Note what the pin number does and does not tell you. It is listed for everything from the SY135 to the SY235, so it identifies the tooth family, not the length or the shank diameter. If the pin is in doubt, send two measurements off a caliper — shank diameter first, then overall length — and a photograph of the old pin standing next to the point. Two pins that photograph identically can be a millimetre apart, and a millimetre is the difference between a point that locks and a point that walks.

Cross-reference traps to walk past

The first trap is the ESCO table. At least one competitor page maps SANY points onto the ESCO SuperV size classes, and if you read the rows closely the mapping does not survive contact: in that list the SY115 point appears opposite a V17 adapter published at 2.350 kg, the SY215 point opposite an FT510 adapter published at 28.700 kg, and the SY55 mini against the heaviest V61 crowns at 22–27 kg. A twelve-fold jump in adapter steel for one step up the machine range is not an interchange — it is a supplier's product grid. Do not size a pin-on system from it.

The second trap is the word "Doosan". Aftermarket pages for the 11912709 point carry Doosan and Daewoo wording in the title, because those suppliers sell one aftermarket point across several brands. SANY's own drawing number is SY215C.3.4.1-11 and the fit columns name SANY machines. Doosan's separate families — 2713-1217 for the DH220 / DX225 class and 2713-9038 for the DH280 / DH320 class — are different drawings with their own bases and pins. If you are matching a SANY bucket to a Doosan nose, get the base opening measured in millimetres and in writing before the container is booked.

What the open market lists

We do not put a price on this page, because a point is quoted with its base, pin and retainer, and the lanefreight moves the number more than the casting does. What public listings showed in October 2026:

ItemPublic listingSource
11912709K point, listed as a set with adapter, pin and lockUS$12.65 at 5 pieces, US$12.00 at 200–499 pieces, US$11.60 at 500+Alibaba product listing, October 2026
Lock pin 12915776US$1.00–3.00 per pieceMade-in-China listing, October 2026

Read those as a floor and not as a quote. On a 5 kg point the open market price is set by the grade of the casting and by what is actually inside the box, and the suppliers who publish both hardness and impact figures — 48–52 HRC and above 20 J — are the ones whose numbers mean something. Ask which grade sits behind the number, and quote by weight.

How to order without a return

Four things settle a SY215C tooth order on the first pass:

  1. The machine model with its serial prefix — the badge alone covers 21.4 t to 23.55 t builds.
  2. A photograph of the old point still sitting in the bucket, with the base and the pin line in one frame.
  3. The pin measured with a caliper: shank diameter, then overall length.
  4. The old point on a scale, and the base opening measured in millimetres across the pocket.

Send those four and the quote comes back firm on point, base, pin and retainer on one line, FOB Shanghai or CIF to your port.

FAQ

Q: What bucket tooth does a SANY SY215C take?
A: Point 11912709 (also sold as 11912709K, drawing SY215C.3.4.1-11), weld-on base 12657353 (12657353K or 12657353P, SY215C.3.4.1-13) and lock pin 12915776 (SY215C.3.4.1-14). The same point is published for the SY135, SY195, SY205 and SY215; the next family up is 11902148K for the SY225 and SY235.

Q: Is the SANY 11912709 the same tooth as a Doosan bucket tooth?
A: Unverified, and we do not sell it that way. SANY's own drawing is SY215C.3.4.1-11 and the fit columns name SANY machines; the Doosan wording on aftermarket pages is one point sold across brands. Doosan's 2713-1217 (DH220 / DX225) and 2713-9038 (DH280 / DH320) families are separate drawings. Ask for the base opening in millimetres in writing.

Q: How much does a SANY SY215C bucket tooth weigh?
A: One Chinese parts supplier quotes the 11912709K point at 5 kg, which is normal for a tooth on a 21.9 t machine on a 0.93 m³ bucket. Other catalogues in the family leave the weight field blank, so the reliable figure is your old point on a scale.

Q: Why does the SY215C have more than one spec sheet?
A: The badge covers several regional builds: SANY's global page says 21.9 t and 118 kW with a 4M50, SANY America's sheet says 23,550 kg with a Cummins QSB6.7 at 122 kW gross, the UK brochure says 129 kW and a 1.2 m³ bucket, and the SY215C-9LCS in India is listed at 21,400 kg and 155 hp. The bucket group is the same on all of them.
